We rarely take pictures of these special skinks. These are True Berber Skinks (Eumeces algeriensis). In our experience these skinks tend to be shy. They do come out to bask each morning. Shortly thereafter, they retreat under the substrate or to their hides.

Unfortunately there seems to be very few keepers working with these animals. Captive-bred babies are seldom available.

This pair of Suriname Boas have been together for the last couple of months. With any luck, we’ll be fortunate to have some beautiful baby boas available later on this year. 🙂

Amazon tree boas are ready to go!

Amazon tree boas are ready to go! We’ve been holding on to this litter of Amazon tree boas for a few months now, waiting to see how their colour changed, and to make sure they’re well started.

Now that these guys have coloured up nicely and properly sexed, they’re ready to go to their new homes. This letter was born October 2019, so they’re already 6 months old, feeding on frozen thawed fuzzy mice.

Thank-you

We thought we would share some skink

We thought we would share some pictures of our Emerald Tree Skinks We thought we would share some skink pictures. These are our Emerald Tree Skinks (Lampropeltis smaragdina). These are awesome little arboreal Skinks that are shy by nature.

Providing an enclosure that is high in the room, situated high on a shelf, appears to be good for this species. This provides them additional security as they feel safe out of terrestrial predators reach.

Snapping a picture of our Southern Alligator

Snapping a picture of our Southern Alligator Lizards (Elgaria multicarinata)Snapping a picture of our Southern Alligator Lizards (Elgaria multicarinata) is not as easy task. This species tends to be more secretive and stay out of sight.

We’re interested in hearing about other people’s experiences with this species. Tell us what your experience has been like keeping these beautiful lizards.

A little Suriname Boa (Boa constrictor) to brightenA little Suriname Boa (Boa constrictor) to brighten up your day. With some hard work and a little luck, we hope to produce a litter of Suriname Boas later in this year.

This little male was born here in 2018. He has a few more years to go before he’ll be able to sire a litter of his own. 🐍😉
